If you’re looking for a gift for a Harry Potter fan this holiday season, check out the GoChess Wizard, a recently released smart chessboard inspired by Wizard’s Chess. Officially licensed and created by Particula Tech, GoChess Wizard is one of numerous AI-enabled games featured in Particula’s holiday sale this month. GoChess Wizard is proving to be quite popular, as restocks of the tournament-sized edition sell out in a flash. The more compact, travel-friendly GoChess Wizard Mini is back in stock on Particula’s online store and Amazon for $300 (was $380).

The traditional edition of GoChess is also on sale for $50 off, which drops the price of GoChess Mini to $200 (was $250) at Amazon and on Particula’s online store. Tournament-sized editions with premium plastic or carved wood materials are available for $250 or $300, respectively, directly from Particula.

Particula Tech’s holiday sale also includes the GoCube, one of the most popular 3 x 3 smart cube puzzles, Bluetooth-enabled smart dice, and smart balance boards with over a dozen games. Take a closer look at Particula Tech’s smart games below. We created a hub on Amazon where you can find many of Particula’s holiday deals. Particula’s online store and Amazon have most of the same offers, but we’ve noted price differences and availability below. The holiday sale runs through the end of the year.

    $300 (was $380)

Particula’s officially licensed version of Wizard’s Chess from the world of Harry Potter is beautifully designed and packed with AI-powered features for players of all skill levels. GoChess Wizard comes with 32 sculpted game pieces made of high density ABS and vinyl. Each magnetic piece matches the medieval-inspired designs from the films and has intricate details. The white and black pieces are packaged in triangle slabs with custom slots to ensure they arrive in pristine condition. The pieces can also be stored in two Harry Potter-branded drawstring pouches.

The premium magnetic game board is only 0.34 inches thick and has built-in smart features. Each square has light LED lighting rings to display valid moves, make suggestions, and signal where to move the CPU pieces when playing solo. The chess bot has 32 difficulty levels and can be used as a personal trainer via the free companion app. Additionally, you can play online with friends and via matchmaking by connecting the companion app to Lichess or Chess.com.

The GoChess Wizard also comes with a smartphone/tablet stand and a USB-C charging cable. The board runs for 5-10 hours on a full charge and takes two hours to recharge.

There are two versions of the GoChess Wizard. The Mini comes with a 13.1 x 13.1-inch board and 1.37-inch squares. The GoChess Wizard Lite is a full tournament-size board–19 x 19 inches and 1.88-inch squares–but otherwise these sets are the same.

As of December 7, only the GoChess Wizard Mini is in stock with a $300 (was $380) holiday launch deal from Particula and Amazon. The GoChess Wizard Lite is only sold at Particula for $350 (was $430) and is currently sold out.

If you buy the GoChess Wizard Mini, you should also check out the deal on the official GoChess travel bag for $40 (was $70). The GoChess Lite travel bag is priced at $60 and isn’t on sale.

    • GoChess Wizard Mini — $300 ($380)
    • GoChess Wizard Lite — $350 ($430)
    • GoChess Mini Travel Bag — $40 ($70)

    $200 (was $250)

If you aren’t a Harry Potter fan but are interested in Particula’s high-end smart chessboard, a traditional version with the same technical features. The main difference is the conventionally designed pieces/game board are made of high-quality plastic or carved wood.

The GoChess Mini is $200 (was $250) at Amazon and Particula. Amazon also has a $240 (was $300) bundle with an official storage/travel bag valued at $70. The GoChess Lite Modern has a tournament-sized board for $250 (was $300) directly from Particula.

The GoChess Lite Classic is on sale for $300 (was $350) at Particula. The Classic’s game board and pieces are made from carved wood.

    • GoChess Mini — $200 ($250)
    • GoChess Mini & Travel Bag — $240 ($300)
    • GoChess Lite Modern — $250 ($300)
    • GoChess Lite Classic — $300 ($350)
    • GoChess Mini Travel Bag — $40 ($70)
    • GoChess Lite Travel Bag — $60

The GoCube Edge is to the Rubik’s Cube what GoChess is to chess. This Bluetooth-enabled 3 x 3 cube has LED lights and positional tracking that registers each rotation and turn in the app. The app has an academy that walks you through the process of solving the cube for the first time. From there, you compete against players around the world, play minigames and puzzles, and track your progress with your solves to see where you can improve.

The GoCube’s app integration is superb and the cube itself is solid. This is a magnetic cube, though it doesn’t turn anywhere close to as fast as high-end speed cubes. The pillowed design also makes it feel different from traditional cubes.

For beginners and anyone who wants as change of pace by playing minigames and solving puzzles, the GoCube Edge is fantastic. I learned how to solve a 3 x 3 cube using the GoCube Edge in 2024. Today, I can solve every square cube up to 13 x 13. I still return to the GoCube Edge to practice and play minigames, because the smart cube features are so good.

There’s also a 2 x 2 version of the GoCube for $35 (was $60). You can bundle the two models together for $73 (was $133). The GoCube comes with a carrying pouch, charging stand, and USB charging cable.

    • GoCube Edge 3 x 3 Smart Cube — $40 ($73)
    • GoCube 2 x 2 Smart Cube — $35 ($60)
    • GoCube Bundle — $73 ($133)

    $39 (was $60)

Particula also makes the Rubik’s Connected, a smart cube that’s officially licensed by Spin Master, the current owner of the Rubik’s brand. Rubik’s Connected doesn’t have magnets, so turning isn’t as smooth. But if you want the traditional design, including tiles with stickers, the Rubik’s Connected has most of the same smart features as the GoCube. A seven-step tutorial teaches newcomers how to solve a Rubik’s Cube for the first time.

    • Rubik’s Connected 3 x 3 Smart Cube — $39 ($60)
    • Rubik’s Connected 2-Pack — $70 ($120)

    2-Pack – $30 (was $50) / 6-Pack – $60 (was $100)

Particula’s smart dice have Bluetooth connectivity and 3D sensors that register rolls in a free companion app for iPad and Android. tablets. GoDice can run for two hours between charges, and only take 10 seconds to charge.

Particula has multiple sets of GoDice. The 2-pack with USB-C charging is on sale for $30 (was $50) and supports over 15 games. The GoDice Full Pack comes with six dice, a portable charging case, and a tablet stand for $60 (was $100). The Full Pack supports over 20 games. There’s also a Family Pack with five dice that supports the same games but has the USB-C charger instead of the portable charger.

Particula makes polyhedral dice shells for online tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. The GoDice RPG Shell Set is on sale for $30 (was $40) and includes six different style shells. The Shell Set requires you to buy GoDice separately, as they are placed inside the polyhedral shells. The GoDice Ultimate Pack includes the Full Pack and RPG Shell Set for $80 (was $120)–10 bucks less than buying each one separately. Alternatively, you can get the GoDice D20 Connected, which includes one regular die and one D20 shell, for $35 (was $55).

    • GoDice Full 6-Pack — $60 ($100)
    • GoDice 2-Pack — $30 ($50)
    • GoDice Family 5-Pack — $55 ($80)
    • GoDice RPG Shell Set — $30 ($40)
    • GoDice Ultimate Pack — $80 ($120)
    • GoDice D20 Connected — $35 ($55)

Deals on the smart balance boards are only available on Particula’s website. The GoBalance Play is discounted to $70 (was $100), while the GoBalance Sport is on sale for $100 (was $130). Unfortunately, the GoBalance Sport is sold out at the time of writing.
