Casio had a standout year in 2025, releasing several notable models across its Edifice, G-Shock, Vintage, and hybrid lines. The brand introduced its first automatic watch under Edifice, experimented with AI-powered structural design in G-Shock, and even launched a ring-sized Nano version of the DW-5600. Here’s a detailed look at the best Casio watches released this year, from cutting-edge innovations to retro classics.
1. Edifice EFK-100
Casio introduced the Edifice EFK-100 series as its first automatic watch. The model showcases a mechanical movement inspired by the precision and performance of motorsports engineering. The EFK100CD-1A features a dial made from forged carbon, a lightweight and durable material commonly used in supercars and aerospace applications.
The lineup includes three models: EFK100CD-1A, EFK100D-7A, and EFK100D-2A. Each watch uses a sapphire crystal and features a see-through case back that showcases the 24-jewel automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve. The dial prioritizes readability, with a clean three-hand layout, a date window, and luminous tips for low-light conditions.
2. G-Shock Nano DWN-5600
Casio launched the DWN-5600 Nano as a 1/10th scale version of the classic DW-5600, complete with full G-Shock durability. This miniature digital watch weighs just 6 grams and measures 23.4 × 20 × 7.5 mm. It fits on a finger but retains 200-meter water resistance and shock protection.
Despite its size, the Nano supports dual time, a stopwatch, automatic calendar, and a soft flashing LED light. Casio used bio-based resin for the case and band, reinforcing its focus on sustainability. The watch ships with a silicone stand and comes in black, red, and yellow.
3. Casio AE-1700H
The AE-1700H is one of Casio’s most practical digital watches of the year. It features a wide display, aluminum rotating bezel, and support for dual time zones. The watch includes a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, LED backlight, and three alarms.
It also includes a dedicated fishing mode that relies on lunar data to indicate optimal fishing times. The watch offers 100-meter water resistance and a 10-year battery life. Casio has launched the AE-1700H in three variants, featuring silver, red-blue, and negative display designs.
4. G-Shock GBA-950
Casio updated its G-Squad lineup with the GBA-950, a sports watch designed for comfort and training. The company collaborated with Outsense Inc. to develop a new band using origami-inspired folding angles. This design improves flexibility and wrist fit during activity.
The GBA-950 connects via Bluetooth and syncs with the Casio Watches app. It supports auto lap timing, pace tracking, step counting, and calorie monitoring. The display combines analog hands with a digital screen. It has a two-year battery, weighs 53 grams, and maintains 200-meter water resistance.
5. Casio MTG-B4000
The MTG-B4000 series debuted as Casio’s first AI-assisted G-Shock. The brand used structural simulations trained on years of shock-resistance data to optimize its Dual Core Guard design. The case combines carbon fiber and stainless steel to maintain toughness in a slimmer 14.4 mm profile.
Casio released two models in this lineup: MTG-B4000B-1A2 with a blue-gray finish and MTG-B4000-1A in plain metal. Both feature Bluetooth, solar charging, and Multiband 6 radio sync. The watches weigh 112 grams and include sapphire glass, stopwatch, timer, and full LED illumination.
6. Casio GW-BX5600
Casio modernized its classic square digital watch with the GW-BX5600 series. The key upgrade is a memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD with higher contrast and improved viewing angles. The screen supports multiple display layouts and two font styles.
This solar-powered G-Shock supports Bluetooth syncing, radio-controlled timekeeping, and a full suite of tools, including five alarms, stopwatch, timer, and world time. It is water-resistant up to 200 meters and weighs 51 grams. The case and band use bio-based resin to reduce environmental impact.
7. Casio AQ-240 Vintage Series
Casio expanded its retro-modern lineup with the AQ-240 series. These hybrid watches pair analog hands with a compact digital display. The design features an octagonal bezel, slim indexes, and a brushed metal dial with sunray finish.
The AQ-240 supports dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, and auto calendar. Casio released three color variants: silver (AQ240E-7A), blue-green (AQ240E-3A), and gold-tone (AQ240EG-9A).
8. Casio GMW-BZ5000
Casio introduced the GMW-BZ5000 as a premium full-metal G-Shock with an advanced MIP LCD. The stainless steel case houses a screw-lock back and a high-contrast memory-in-pixel screen with eight display styles. The watch uses a refined solar power system to support the high-resolution display.
It includes Multiband 6 radio syncing, Bluetooth, five alarms, stopwatch, and world time for 38 cities. The case measures 13 mm thick and weighs 172 grams. The series includes silver (BZ5000D-1), black (BZ5000BD-1), and gold (BZ5000GD-9) models.
