Google announced today that it is upgrading the Gemini for Home service with a “continued conversations” feature. Continued conversation allows a user to have a natural discussion with the Gemini platform without prefacing every follow-up request with the “Hey Google” prompt. The microphone will remain active on a smart device for a few seconds after the Gemini AI assistant provides its reply. During that window, the lights on the hardware will pulse or glow, indicating that you can keep chatting normally with the chatbot without needing a wake word. Gemini should retain the context as the conversation progresses, which should…

Did you know that in the first Minions spin-off film released back in 2015, the movie explained why the loud and obnoxious characters who love to help evil people didn’t lend a hand to any leaders during World War I or World War 2? It’s true. But the latest entry in the franchise, Minions & Monsters, is apparently retconning all of this, and now I have questions. This isn’t breaking news. Instead, it’s sort of been known for a bit now and was fully confirmed by Universal and Illumination during last week’s CinemaCon. But I missed that, so when I…

Someone Forgot To End Their Turn A Decade Ago You will likely remember Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire more than the original Pillars of Eternity which came out a decade ago; assuming you played the second one instead of ignoring it because of the less than wonderful real time with pause combat of the first.  Well, it might be worth revisiting as Obsidian just released a brand new update to their elderly game, which now includes proper turn based combat.  They’ve done more than just make you and your enemies line up to wait a turn to fight, there are…

A new blood test can detect a precursor to liver disease, which can in turn be a harbinger of cancer. The hope is that the test could help prevent liver cancer before it occurs. The test uses a machine learning model to analyze free-floating genetic material circulating in the blood. In the new study, researchers used it to detect bits of DNA that point to early-stage liver scarring, or fibrosis. This early scarring, if left untreated, can develop into severe liver scarring, called cirrhosis, and eventually cancer. The test still needs to go through follow-up testing to show it accurately flags early…

I was delighted to see that the Acer Chromebook Plus 516 didn’t skimp on a crappy touchpad. That goes a long way toward improving the experiencing of actually using the laptop on a moment-by-moment basis. I wasn’t annoyed every time I had to click-and-drag or select a bit of text. This one’s biggest weakness is definitely the screen, which is true of just about every cheap Chromebook I’ve tested. The colors are ugly and desaturated, giving the whole thing a sickly green tint. It’s also not the sharpest in the world, as it’s stretching 1920 x 1200 pixels across a…

as a daily driver? Well, I did just that, so you don’t have to. And there are some interesting takeaways from this experiment. For the past six months, I’ve been using the RedMagic 11 Pro for absolutely everything. I even set up my Google Wallet and banking app, which is a hard procedure requiring a lot of patience and dedication. This fancy-looking, futuristic device was my camera, my TV set, my music player, and everything a modern smartphone is supposed to be nowadays. How did it go? We’ll get to it, but first, a few lines about the phone itself, as this…

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was supposed to be officially revealed on April 23 at noon ET. This date was revealed by Ubisoft yesterday in a short video, opening with the gag line, “Gaming’s worst kept secret.” Well, in true Ubisoft style, that was always going to be a rake to step on, and the trailer has already leaked with ten seconds of footage uploaded to X. Kotaku brought you the scoop that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag was being remade as long ago as 2023, and ever since the project has been leakier than any of the pirate ships it features.…

Most store owners focus on getting more traffic, but more visitors won’t help if your landing pages and cart setup are confusing. You can double your WooCommerce revenue by fixing the ‘leaky’ parts of your checkout process where 70% of shoppers typically drop off. I’ve tested dozens of funnel builders on live stores to see which ones actually reduce cart abandonment without requiring a developer. The good news is that you can build a professional path that guides visitors from their first glance to a final purchase in just a few hours. In this guide, I’ll show you exactly how…

AMD Pricing Reflects Desktop Dominance? Our short wait is over, as AMD today announced pricing and availability of the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor. Are you sitting down? As AMD states: The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor will be available from leading retailers starting Apr. 22 with an SEP of $899.  We didn’t think it would be cheap, as is “the first desktop processor designed with dual AMD 3D V-Cache”, and yields for a product like this are probably not spectacular, so bear that in mind before judging the price tag harshly. After all, this seems…
