NASA’s X-59 quiet supersonic research aircraft took off for its historic first flight on Oct. 28, 2025, at 11:14 a.m. EDT from Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. The one-of-a-kind aircraft flew for 67 minutes before landing and taxiing to NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. NASA test pilot Nils Larson flew the X-59 up to an altitude of about 12,000 feet and an approximate top speed of 230 mph, precisely as planned. The plane’s landing gear remained down during the entire flight, a common practice for experimental aircraft flying for the first time. Now that the…
Preservation has become a pressing topic for games in this era of digital-only releases and games-as-a-service. So it’s wonderful to have a big win in archiving a trio of seminal text games for the ages. Microsoft announced today that the code for Zork, Zork II and Zork III will be made available open source under the MIT License. The company’s Open Source Programs Office, Xbox and Activision all contributed to the effort. “The goal is not to modernize Zork but to preserve it as a space for exploration and education,” Microsoft team members wrote in the blog post sharing the…
Microsoft’s November Xbox showcase didn’t have any major reveals but it did have plenty of nice surprises. Most of them were all geared around making the now $30 Game Pass Ultimate subscription seem a little more worth it thanks to a slew of promised upcoming day-one releases. The livestream confirmed that Dave the Diver and recent Steam hit CloverPit are now both available on Xbox, each with new DLC coming early next year. But it also offered updates on a bunch of stuff that’s not out yet, including trailers for some new games we didn’t previously know about. Here’s all…

Despite that, some new details are now available about it.Honor Magic8 Mini could set a new standard for small phonesHonor may try a different spin on the ultra-slim smartphone idea with the Magic8 Mini. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 knew how to lay on the camp. But it wasn’t only known for having some of the most delightfully cheesy cutscenes this side of The 7th Guest. Red Alert 2 was also an acclaimed real-time strategy game for its time, and it’s still perfectly playable today. Want to see for yourself? It’s now as easy as opening your browser. The Chrono Divide project (via PC Gamer) lets you play the 2000 RTS in Chrome, Edge, or Safari. Although it supports Firefox, too, its developer says it should be avoided if you want “good performance.” It…

Ho, ho, ho! Happy holidays! Everyone is getting Borderlands 4‘s first DLC for free because the game needed so much post-launch fixing that Gearbox couldn’t finish the DLC in time, and will make it up to fans who paid for the pack with extra DLC next year. When Borderlands 4 launched in September, it received praise for its open world, improved gunplay, and better-than-ever co-op gameplay. I really liked it! But performance issues and bugs on PC and console derailed some of the excitement, leading to Gearbox having to spend a lot of time fixing, improving, and updating the co-op-focused…
While long-standing OnePlus fans may be the first in line to trash the new OnePlus 15 and its design (yeah, it looks pedestrian compared to the premium-finished OnePlus 13, for example), the truth is that it’s a champion. It’s superfast, it has a bright, flat display, it’s sturdy, it’s sold for under $1,000 and, most importantly, it has the best battery life on a phone we’ve ever seen here at PhoneArena. That’s not an exaggeration, as the OnePlus 15 wipes the floor with big-name flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Interestingly enough, it manages…
