Get Your System Now Before You Have To Start Treating It Like Buying An Engagement Ring!
Lenovo has released an interesting tiny PC, the ThinkCentre neo 50q which is powered by a 3.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100. That will certainly help with the price, unfortunately it also uses LPDDR5X-8448 in either a 16GB model or a 32GB version which likely comes with sticker shock for free.
It sips a mere 26W, impressive compared to Intel and AMD’s 35W processors but unfortunately the benefit of that lower power draw matters a lot less on a system with no battery. It measures a mere 182.9 x 179 x 36.5mm (7.20 x 7.05 x 1.44 in), or 1L if you prefer and weighs a hair over a kilogram, also known as 2.45 lbs.
Lenovo squeezed a fair amount of ports onto the ThinkCentre neo 50q, with both USB-A and USB-C 10Gbps on the front along with a combo audio jack while the rear offers 1GbE LAN, two more USB-A 10Gbps, and a single legacy USB-A 480Mbps. The ThinkCentre neo 50q offers both both HDMI 2.1 and DP1.4b however the Snapdragon limits your output to 4K@60Hz. There is a Back-to-Back punch-out port and optional Wi-Fi 6E (2×2) with Bluetooth 5.3 via an available M.2 slot.
