Opening Apple’s Maps app just for directions may look a little different in the near future. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to introduce ads to Maps as soon as next year. While it won’t be as annoying as unskippable YouTube ads, Apple wants to offer better visibility on Maps to restaurants and businesses that are willing to pay. When looking for a new restaurant or relevant business, you may already be used to seeing ads on Google Maps or Yelp that highlight certain establishments. However, Gurman said that Apple is planning to lean on AI for better search…

Last week, a pair of videos released by Boston Dynamics and Figure AI provided clear examples that certain tasks simply require much more “human touch.” In the first case, Hyundai-owned Boston Dynamics showed off a new pair of “grippers” for its trimmed-down Atlas factory robot. (Readers familiar with the company may be more familiar with Atlas’ older, beefier predecessor). The claw-like, three-digit pincer features three fingers, one functioning as…
Noise-canceling headphones have become essential gear for commuters and travelers who need to block out the world and focus on what matters. Sony just quietly liquidated XM4 inventory on Amazon, dropping the price to $198 from the usual $348, and the timing is interesting because both the XM5 and XM6 are on the market at nearly three times this price. Here’s the thing though: the technological improvements between these new generations are minimal and most users can’t tell the difference in real-world use. The XM4 delivers the same exceptional active noise cancellation, 30-hour battery life, multipoint connection, and premium sound…
The iQOO 15 went official this week, and it’s rocking a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and a potent 7,000mAh battery. The 6.85-inch 144Hz gaming phone is out in China first, and it shattered the sales records, selling in just 30 minutes what its predecessor did in its first day. Realme brought us the GT8 Pro and GT8. Both have camera systems tuned by imaging great, Ricoh, but the Pro has nicer cameras and a swappable camera island bezel design. The GT8 Pro has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while its sibling has last year’s generation Snapdragon. Both phones…

Down on King’s Road, black cabs scribble wet S-curves, their windshield wipers keeping time with an imaginary drum loop. I’m in London, at least mentally. My head is nestled in a pair of Onyx Black Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 over-ear noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones, “Retrograde” by James Blake pouring in. My body is in row 23, somewhere over the Atlantic. As the song stretches, tenderness becomes architecture, forming air pockets and exposed beams…
Power outages, camping trips and outdoor events all share one frustrating problem: you need electricity where there isn’t any or you can’t rely on the grid to stay up when you need it most. Portable power stations solve this by packing serious battery capacity into something you can actually move around and EcoFlow’s Delta 3 just hit an all-time low of $519 on Amazon, dropped from its usual $699 price. This 1024Wh unit can power 13 devices simultaneously, charges from dead to full in under an hour, and uses LiFePO4 battery chemistry that’s rated for 4000 cycles over a 10-year…
It’s been four years since Nothing launched its Ear (1) and the London-based brand is now an established player in the TWS market. Enter the Nothing Ear (3) – its latest flagship wireless earbuds with the now recognizable transparent look and some key improvements. While Nothing’s naming scheme hasn’t always been the most consistent, its earbuds have offered impressive hardware paired with a polished software experience. Ear (3) comes in with a more premium build, a dedicated microphone in the case and claims of improved sound output and superior noise cancellation. Did Nothing deliver a winner with the Ear (3),…
Back in our day, phones used to come with chargers – now you’re lucky if you get a cable. The good news is that USB-C and USB charging standards have done away with the compatibility issue of the past (well, mostly), so a few good chargers are all you need. That means that you have to pick the chargers yourself, though. Here are the ones we use. And yes, you do need multiple – for your home, maybe for work and your car, maybe for travel. We have separated them into groups based on use-case. Table of Contents: Wall chargers…
After four weeks at the top, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max was finally dethroned as the most popular phone in our database. The Chinese maker won’t be too sad about it, though, as it’s replaced at the top by the newly announced Redmi K90 Pro Max. The third spot went to the Samsung Galaxy A56, which began another slow climb up the ranks, followed by the Galaxy S25 Ultra in fourth. The iPhone 17 Pro Max retained its fifth position as the Oppo Find X9 Pro climbed to sixth. With the global launch expected next week, Oppo’s new flagship…
