The Republic of Malta became the 65th signatory to the Artemis Accords on Monday during a ceremony in the town of Kalkara with NASA and U.S. Department of State officials present. “Today, it’s my pleasure to welcome the Republic of Malta to the Artemis Accords community,” NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said in recorded remarks. “By joining this growing coalition, Malta affirms shared commitments to peaceful, transparent, and responsible space exploration. These commitments safeguard against chaos and confusion, and they chart a responsible path forward for every nation that dares to accomplish the near-impossible in space.” Malta’s Minister for Education, Youth,…

It’s Hard To Patch CopyFail When Your Linux Distro Is Unreachable Thursday was a lousy day for Ubuntu users and Canonical as they found themselves under a DDoS attack which took down their site. That meant that it became rather challenging to get the patch for CopyFail, a rather terrifying threat to all Linux systems which was discovered last week. The good news was that mirror sites could still be reached, so with a little extra effort systems were still being patched. The attack was likely from the Islamic Cyber Resistance in Iraq, aka as the 313 Team, considering they…
The traffic management sim Mini Motorways is once again asking players to vote for its next map. Developer Dinosaur Polo Club just put up a website that lets folks choose from four city maps, including Vienna, Auckland, Singapore and Lima. The city with the most votes will get an official map in the game later this year, and it will be available for free on all current platforms. The game is playable on iOS devices, PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch. The company says that people can only vote once, but that it’ll be “keeping…
Almost two months have passed since Nvidia first revealed its DLSS 5 AI slop filter to the masses, and it would seem that, due to the lack of references to the tech in the weeks since, the internet has successfully bullied the company into keeping quiet about its “AI-powered breakthrough.” However, Eurogamer saw a fun opportunity to twist the knife one final time today during its interview with Resident Evil Requiem’s game director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa. Grace Ashcroft, one of Resident Evil Requiem’s protagonists, was chosen to be the unfortunate poster child for Nvidia’s DLSS 5 reveal…
More Good MagSafe and Qi2 ChargersHere are a few other MagSafe wireless chargers we have tested that didn’t quite manage to earn a place above.Photograph: Simon HillMous Dual Charging Station for $100: This dual charger from Mous is a looker, but disappoints on charging speeds, maxing out at 15 watts for the main MagSafe pad and just 5 watts for the second Qi pad, though there is a spare USB-C port that can charge at 18 watts. You can also add an Apple Watch charger ($55) that connects magnetically to the pogo pins at one end (5-watt maximum) and pops…
Also known as Endurance, MK1 is an uncrewed cargo lander funded by Blue Origin as a commercial demonstration mission to advance Human Landing System capabilities in support of NASA’s Artemis program. The tests in Chamber A represent a public-private partnership model, with Blue Origin conducting work through a reimbursable Space Act Agreement. Endurance will demonstrate precision landing, cryogenic propulsion, and autonomous guidance, navigation, and control capabilities in support of future lunar surface operations. In addition to its primary objectives, MK1 will carry two NASA science and technology payloads under the CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative to the lunar South…
Alexis Goldstein had just dropped her toddler off at day care and was on her way back into the office when she ran into a group of people she had never seen before attempting to access equipment that appeared to be from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). What ensued was a yearlong fight to save her job at the agency from Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency. It was February 2025, and DOGE was conducting a wholesale assault on the US government. The operatives arrived at the CFPB on February 6. Goldstein whipped out her phone and started documenting…
Star Wars is a massive and popular franchise that encompasses hundreds of books, games, and more. But it all started with a few films back in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. And today, we are going to dodge the angry nerds and fan theories to look at every Star Wars film released in theaters and list the best and worst bits of each. For this journey through a Galaxy, Far Far Away… we will be going chronologically through the main films, starting with the prequels and ending with the modern sequels. And then I tacked on the various spin-offs…
In this new picture from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, a spiral galaxy glittering with star clusters is the center of attention. NGC 3137 is located 53 million light-years away in the constellation Antlia (the Air Pump). As a nearby spiral galaxy, this target offers astronomers an excellent opportunity to study the cycle of stellar birth and death, as well as giving researchers a glimpse of a galactic system similar to our own. NGC 3137 is of particular interest to astronomers because it travels through space with a group of galaxies that is thought to be similar to the Local Group, the galaxy group…
