Word is out that Bethesda’s MachineGames is working on Wolfenstein 3. The possibility of the game was mentioned in a post by Windows Central‘s Jez Corden, and Kotaku can confirm it’s true from our own sources. The Swedish developer, which most recently knocked it out of the park with 2024’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, is returning to the Nazi-blasting franchise for the first time since 2019’s Wolfenstein: Youngblood. As Bethesda Softworks approaches its 40th anniversary (the company’s first game was 1986’s Gridiron! for the Amiga and Atari ST!), and with a Wolfenstein TV series in the works to follow Fallout onto Amazon Prime,…
Half a year after first opening its eyes to the cosmos, NASA’s SPHEREx spacecraft has unveiled its first complete, all-sky mosaic of the universe. The first of at least four such maps anticipated from SPHEREx, the new composite of more than 100 individual exposures promises to reveal unprecedented details of the night sky.”It’s incredible how much information SPHEREx has collected in just six months — information that will be especially valuable when used alongside our other missions’ data to better understand our universe,” Shawn Domagal-Goldman, the acting director of the Astrophysics Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington, said in a statement.…
The annual Consumer Electronics Show is currently raging in Las Vegas, and as has become traditional over the past decade, automakers and their suppliers now use the conference to announce their technology plans. Tonight it was Ford’s turn, and it is very on-trend for 2026. If you guessed that means AI is coming to the Ford in-car experience, congratulations, you guessed right. Even though the company owes everything to mass-producing identical vehicles, it says that it wants AI to personalize your car to you. “Our vision for the customer is simple, but not elementary: a seamless layer of intelligence that…
Apple announced today JPMorgan Chase will be the new issuer for the Apple Card. The official news arrived shortly after The Wall Street Journal reported that the two businesses had reached a deal regarding Apple’s credit card service. According to the tech company, the transition to the new provider should take about two years to complete, but customers can continue to use their Apple Cards as usual during the interim. Apple has already published an FAQ about the change, but the main takeaway is that the status quo is currently continuing and customers will receive information at a later date if…
Yesterday, the official Fortnite Twitter account hinted that something South Park-related would be unveiled on January 9th. “Chaos, loading…” the post read, alongside an image of Butters wearing a gaming headset. Less than 24 hours later, a full trailer for the upcoming South Park x Fortnite crossover event has leaked online. The trailer, leaked on Twitter by user @ShiinaBR (via the original uploader @imscouterr), gives us our first look at the skins for Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters, all of whom are using cardboard mech suits (assumedly so their skins can be tall enough to fit the game’s standard).…
This story contains descriptions of explicit sexual content and sexual violence.Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot has drawn outrage and calls for investigation after being used to flood X with “undressed” images of women and sexualized images of what appear to be minors. However, that’s not the only way people have been using the AI to generate sexualized images. Grok’s website and app, which are are separate from X, include sophisticated video generation that is not available on X and is being used to produce extremely graphic, sometimes violent, sexual imagery of adults that is vastly more explicit than images created by…
A handful of 60,000-year-old arrow tips unearthed in a South African rock shelter are the oldest evidence of poison weapons in the world, a new study finds. The discovery pushes back the confirmed use of poison weapons by hunter-gatherers by over 50,000 years. In the new study, scientists chemically analyzed 10 arrow tips that had been found decades ago at Umhlatuzana rock shelter. They found that five still contained traces of slow-acting poisons. These substances, likely derived from a species of tumbleweed, would have weakened targeted prey and substantially cut down the time and energy required for persistence hunts, the authors wrote…
Every fall, dozens of maple and oak trees in my neighborhood shed their leaves. Thus begins the constant drone of gas-powered leaf blowers every day through early December. The noise is by far the most annoying thing about these yard tools, but I can appreciate it’s a necessary evil — unless you prefer to pick up a blister-inducing rake.Whisper Aero argues there’s a better way. The company is using aerospace tech to quiet the noisy devices, introducing the T1 leaf blower at CES 2026 under its sub-brand Tone Outdoors. The company promises the T1 is 80 percent quieter and 60…
It is never too late for you to develop a new skill and master it so well that you can’t help but stunt on at least 20,000 other people. Case in point: There is a 95-year-old grandmother out there who has never played an FPS game and might be a better shot than me, a 28-year-old who has played these games most of his life. As reported by Automaton, ZachsMaxed, a professional FPS player, recently shared a video on Twitter showing how his grandmother, Anne Krohley, is simply a better shot than many other players. In the clip, Krohley can…
Researchers from the Leonardo da Vinci DNA Project (LDVP) that by analyzing the drawing of Holy Child and other Renaissance artifacts, such as letters written by a da Vinci relative, they have recovered some Y chromosome DNA sequences that appear to belong to a genetic group of people with common ancestors in Tuscany, where the genius and Renaissance master was born in 1452. The findings, first reported in Science, could be the first time scientists have identified DNA from da Vinci himself. The DNAHistorical artifacts can accumulate DNA from the environment and potentially offer useful information about the people who created…
