Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games is a new anime that adapts the 2023 manga of the same name, and its title tells you a lot about it up front. The series follows two girls who have a love of fighting games but attend a girls’ school where video games are banned, and bond over fight sticks. The one major difference between the manga and the anime, however, is that the girls aren’t playing a fictional fighting game like they are in the printed version. Instead, they’re playing Street Fighter 6. This change was first revealed last year, and it…

You almost certainly know them: Someone who had to retire from soccer because of a hip problem. A grandmother who can’t lift her arm to comb her hair because of shoulder pain. A coworker who had a knee replacement. So often, the cause is osteoarthritis, a wear and tear of the joints that affects one in six people over the age of 30. Osteoarthritis has no cure, and the only remedies are the implantation of a prosthesis or some treatment for pain. There is reason for optimism, however, because an agency in the US Department of Health and Human Services has…

It made the move to “better align with market conditions, customer demand and Nissan’s updated strategic direction,” Nissan told AN in a statement.  As part of “Ambition 2030,” Nissan announced in 2021 that it would retool its Canton facility to build EVs along with batteries for multiple Nissan and…

Aluminum won’t crack like a polycarbonate shell. You can stomp on these bags and stand on them. Don’t tell airport security, but my daughter and I have been known to race aluminum carry-on bags through airport terminals, like real-life Mario Kart. When frequent travelers buy luggage, they want this structural integrity and reliability. Rigid shells with metal frames and strong latch closures offer better protection for your belongings and should last a lifetime.Metal rivets, high-quality wheels, robust handles, and better components also mean that all-metal luggage is easier to repair. Well-established brands typically offer generous warranties and repair services, especially…

In this new picture from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, a spiral galaxy glittering with star clusters is the center of attention. NGC 3137 is located 53 million light-years away in the constellation Antlia (the Air Pump). As a nearby spiral galaxy, this target offers astronomers an excellent opportunity to study the cycle of stellar birth and death, as well as giving researchers a glimpse of a galactic system similar to our own. NGC 3137 is of particular interest to astronomers because it travels through space with a group of galaxies that is thought to be similar to the Local Group, the galaxy…

The morning sun in Anaheim was muted but warm as I made my approach to the convention center where Final Fantasy 14’s latest “Fan Fest” was about to kick off. A line of eager fans, some dressed casually and others bearing awe-inspiring costumes, stretched on around the block. As I slipped towards the media entrance, a deafening roar erupted from the crowd. Game Director Naoki Yoshida had just arrived on the scene with an entourage of developers.  Yoshida, called “Yoshi-P” by fans, waved confidently at the crowd. Turns out he had good cause to be confident; in a few hours…

miss.cabul/Shutterstock Meta is tweaking Instagram’s recommendation algorithm to, it hopes, boost  “original content” for photo and carousel posts on Instagram. The company tweaked Instagram’s algorithm in 2024 to penalize accounts that recycle other accounts’ Reels posts, but didn’t expand the same protections to photo and carousel posts at the time. (Not that I particularly noticed any difference to the churn on my Reels, personally.) Reshare accounts without “material” edits could see their reach throttled. The question is: where is the line when it comes to a material edit?  Also, you…
