The idea of GameStop buying eBay is widely considered an absolutely dreadful one, but just in case anyone was still on the fence, GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen gave an interview to CNBC that went so badly it left the hosts, and any viewers, dumbfounded. The core question behind this deeply peculiar move by GameStop is where the company could possibly get the money. Cohen’s answer? Yeah, still waiting on that, because he genuinely didn’t seem to understand the question. GameStop is currently valued at a pretty spurious $11 billion, while eBay is roughly $47 billion. In a rational world, the…

In a brief appearance at a Make America Healthy Again Institute event Monday, anti-vaccine Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced new federal initiatives to curb prescribing of antidepressants, which he has long attacked with false and dangerous claims. Mental health experts have previously condemned his rhetoric and are already pushing back on his new efforts. The MAHA event was focused on “overmedicalization,” with participants broadly alleging—without evidence—that too many Americans, particularly youths, are overprescribed antidepressants in the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. This class includes common medications such as Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, and Lexapro, which are…

It looks like new Call of Duty games will no longer be coming to last-gen platforms like the PS4 and Xbox One, requiring franchise fans to purchase expensive newer consoles. The official brand recently posted to social media that the “next Call of Duty is not being developed for PS4.” The post didn’t specifically mention Xbox One, but I’m not sure why a developer would waste resources on the less popular of the two. Call of Duty was one of the last big franchises developing for the aging console generation. The previous entry, Call…

Pennsylvania has sued the maker of Character.AI, alleging that it violated state law by presenting an AI chatbot character as a licensed doctor. The lawsuit was filed in a state court by the Pennsylvania Department of State and State Board of Medicine. “The department’s investigation found that AI chatbot characters on Character.AI claimed to be licensed medical professionals, including psychiatrists, available to engage users in conversations about mental health symptoms,” Governor Josh Shapiro’s office said today in an announcement of the lawsuit. “In one instance, a chatbot falsely stated it was licensed in Pennsylvania and provided an invalid license number.”…

NASA’s Juno spacecraft captured this view of Thebe, the second largest of Jupiter’s inner moons, during a close pass on May 1, 2026. The spacecraft’s Stellar Reference Unit (SRU) captured this image from a distance of approximately 3,100 miles (5,000 kilometers) at a resolution of about 1.9 miles (3 kilometers) per pixel. Thebe resides at the outer edge of Jupiter’s faint ring system and is believed to play a role in the formation of the planet’s “gossamer” ring through the shedding of dust. While the SRU’s primary function is to image star fields for navigation, its high sensitivity in low-light…

Microsoft announced plans to start stripping Copilot out of select Windows apps in March after criticism of the company’s mishandling of its operating system reached a fever pitch. As it turns out though, Windows isn’t the only place where you’ll see less Copilot: Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has announced that the AI assistant will also be removed from the gaming brand’s mobile app and Xbox consoles. Under previous Xbox leadership, Copilot was introduced as a sort of in-game assistant that would be aware of what you’re playing and able to offer contextual advice based on what’s on your screen. Microsoft…

The entries cited during the trial were written between 2015, when OpenAI was founded, and 2023, when Brockman and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman were briefly ousted as leaders over the OpenAI board’s alleged safety concerns. Musk hopes the diary entries paint Brockman as a money-hungry executive who, early on, cared little about OpenAI’s mission. To overcome that characterization of his mindset in OpenAI’s early days, Brockman has the challenging task of convincing the court that, instead, they show the opposite: displaying the careful musings of the person who is perhaps most committed to OpenAI’s mission. Brockman likened to “bank robber”…
