Xbox has offered a smidge more detail on what the heck is going on with its exclusive/cross-platform release strategy today, with Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball saying that players can expect a “reliable pipeline” of exclusives going forward. This comes via an interview with The Game Business’ Chris Dring at Summer Game Fest, where Dring asked Ball which games would be exclusive going forward, and which would not. Ball did not answer Dring’s question directly, but explained that Xbox has “an internal framework and a strategy that we’re using to approach exclusives on and off-platform.” He also said it…
Here’s a cold take: Apple’s AirPods sound good. They don’t have a particular character or some sort of twist to them. They just sound polite, balanced, and cast as wide a net as possible.General consumers love them because they know they can expect the same high quality as their last set. Audiophiles tend to avoid them, because they prefer something with more grit or character over a vanilla cookie-cutter sound.Personally, I really like the AirPods and even use a set of gen 1 AirPods Maxes quite often. Unsigned, Unauthenticated Firmware Updates Aren’t A Great Feature The Sound Blaster Katana V2X is getting great reviews compared to the previous V2 model when it comes to the audio quality it offers. Security minded folks are not quite so impressed. Rasmus Moorats is a security researcher who picked up a Katana V2X and when seeing if he could create a custom Linux tool to connect and control the USB/Bluetooth speaker. Its launch has intensified competition with Anthropic, whose Claude Code product has emerged as one of the start-up’s fastest-growing businesses. “Approximately a year ago, OpenAI’s strategy was swing for the fences, whereas Anthropic’s strategy is make money first,” said Jenny Xiao, partner at Leonis Capital and former researcher at OpenAI. “Now the two are converging, because both of them are trying to aim for an IPO and investors care more about money than dreams.” To encourage users to adopt those services, OpenAI is redesigning ChatGPT’s interface, adding new prompts and features that direct users towards coding tools, image generation and…
As Summer Game Fest season (aka not-E3 time) winds down and the dust settles, we can take a look at all the games that were announced. There were certainly a lot of games revealed, as well as a bunch of previously announced games that we got new looks at during this year’s summertime video game extravaganza. And a lot of what we saw was remakes, remasters, and re-releases. It was during the PC Gaming Show on Sunday, when both a Thief and Company of Heroes remaster were revealed, that I realized just how many old games were being brought back…

Like the existing Commerce regulations, the bill would create a mechanism by which OEMs can apply for authorization “to allow otherwise prohibited vehicles to enter the US.” “Specific authorizations could only be granted under strict conditions, with both transparency and congressional oversight,” the bill says. Customs and Border Protection would have 90 days to implement the rules, “including [generating] a list of prohibited vehicles.” “We’re gonna be aggressive here because Michigan jobs are on the line, but also so is national security. So close our border to Chinese vehicles and Chinese technology in the vehicles, even for day trips. That’s…
