Hopefully They Aren’t Overextending Their Reach
The first thing that might come to mind when you look at that screenshot is that the big old mech looks eerily familiar. There is a very good reason for that, as former Homeworld artist Aaron Kambeitz is on board as a designer for ZeroSpace assets. The majority of the game will be top-down Starcraft-style combat, in a Starship Troopers like humans against huge masses of bugs. However the campaign will be more 4X style, with a persistent map of conquered, or at least pacified, territories.
On top of this will be a Mass Effect like “choices matter” mechanism which will have an effect on the overall campaign. Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN likely has chosen an accurate description. You will get choices, but they have little more than a cosmetic effect on your overall experience. Regardless, ZeroSpace boasts “A singleplayer campaign with 15 main story missions, 10 hero loyalty missions, and 15 side story arc missions.“
That is good to hear!
Also good news is that Krafton, after trying to prevent both the on time launch of Subnautica 2 and also stopping development of the game during the delay, will indeed need to pay out that $250 million bonus to the dev team.
